Highest trig on LR30, Fraserburgh. Lots of wartime buildings scattered around suggest this top was used to defend the mainland from advances via the Moray Firth and North Sea. Aviation radio mast near summit. Pillar built 18th November 1950. Secondary station in Block NJ75, Banff. Pillar VGC, moss coverage to sighting hole height. Spider retains original OS plug with deep stamped lettering. Flush bracket faces SSE. Back sighting hole open, others plugged. Open moor land, lots of deep heather to negotiate. Radio amateur or plane spotter with his old bus (Leyand National THX217S for those who are interested) tuning in up there. Views to Mormond, Bennachie, Foudland Hill and Knock. Visited and photographed 15/06/2004, GRP.
