Wet, soggy day and didn't spend much time viewing the mist. The water tower and reservoir seem to obscure at least 180 degrees view. The remainder was over a large arable field - goodness only knows what may have been in the distance!

A short detour whilst travelling down the A1. Drove along the short lane (no obvious "Private" sign) and parked up at the water tower. Simply nipped around the back to the pillar, which sits right by the fence with FB closet to the fence. Nothing views all around. Is it possible that this has been moved at some point, maybe from the top of the reservoir, or did it just get unlucky when the reservoir was built right in front of it?

Parked in the nearby estate for a short walk to the pillar sited in front of the fence for the water works site. Views over farm fields on one side. The pillar is in generally good condition and retains the original centre for the spider.

Another revisit. Paint weathered and flaking but maybe better so than repainted which would attract graffiti. The reservoir and tree growth block the views in most directions. Warm sunny day.

Trig in good condition but was overgrown with brambles, It sits just on the outside of a fenced off water tower with the flush bracket facing the fence so is a bit tricky to get a picture

Trig in reasonable condition, although the farmer couldn't have ploughed any nearer to it. Good to see the label on it saying it is an offence to damage it.... though would be interested to know why this hasn't stopped other nearby trigs (eg Halton Moor, Barnbow Wood) from being recently destroyed.

My little companion's 16th pillar; revisit for me en route to relatives. Parked at the water tower entrance and had a very quick trot to the trig. Pillar unchanged from my visit in summer; good condition and easily accessible for all. No tough vegetation this time of year.

Drove up the water tower access road parking by the compound gates, pillar sits close to perimeter fencing on N side of compound - with FB facing into the wire so awkward to get a decent snap of it. An original centre cap is retained, lightly indented lettering; front sight hole open. Tie-down loops are all damaged: 1 broken off, the other 2 bent over. No views.

Quick local bag whilst visiting relatives. Dropped off near the water tower, quick walk down a track, right turn into a field and the pillar is nestled against the water tower security fence. It looked quite content amongst nettles and other thick undergrowth. Condition was good,with no real damage beyond the usual weathering. Some lichen/moss etc. I trampled the foliage around it to get to the flush bracket, which faces the fence. Would be a better bag in winter when all the greenery is gone.

(1119) After visiting TP11666 it was then a short walk to the pillar. Located up against the water tower compound fence. The FB faces towards this, so it was a little bit awkward to view/photograph. All good, and with an OS plaque present.

Walked up a short lane from the A63, which becomes a path and the trigpoint is on your right well hidden amongst some friendly nettles.

Another revisit. The adjacent field now has a crop of potatoes. No change to the trig condition - hooks protruding with two flattened and one broken. Centre plug with an extra hole implying that it may have been removed then replaced upside down. Extensive views SW from the road.

Pillar is easily accessible and highly visible. I parked in a street to the west near the Fire Station and followed a small right of way path then a dog walking path up the field through some crops. This took me directly to the gateway onto the track which is opposite the pillar. Views from this relative high point somewhat restricted. Pillar in good condition and still retains an original plug - just.

Log #30. (102m). By car. 50m walk from lane into field behind Garforth Cliff resr. Excellent view over Garforth and beyond. Very difficult photographing FB plate as its up against the fence. Please note the word MONUMENT on the plaque, and the warning that it is an offence to damage it. Why are these plaques not placed on every single Pillar around the UK? Join my crusade to have ALL trigs declared National Monuments with rights of access.

Wow, some of these logs are a bit negative. OMG-started out in Cas then crossed the Aire rail bridge (don't do it kids) followed the old railway line up from Allerton Bywater and Kippax to arrive at Garforth to ascend the cliff! for the uninitiated this trig gives one of the best views in Yorkshire, across to the Pennines west, south of the Aire Gap, and on this day a fantastic view of the snow covered Wolds to the East. What a trig!

Quite easy to find near the water tower. I was visiting Winfields Camping shop and left the car there. While my wife went to the garden centre next door I walked back towards Garforth and up the lane, only about a 10 minute walk.

Didn't venture down the lane. Turned right at the lights and 2nd right. There is a footpath which runs behind the flats here. At the opposite end of the field to where I parked gives access to the fields. After following foot prints in the snow I found the trig in the adjacent field.

Field or road, take your choice - I'd meandered on foot from the nearby Hook Moor trig through the housing at Garforth to reach the field path to the east which was very muddy today (loads of rain lately) - but came down the access road from the water tower\radio mast (to the A63) and can't see any problem walking up\down the access road really. The trig's in the field just to the north of the water tower (apologies as I couldn't get it in a photo as the sun was directly behind it at the time of my visit). Note : the radio mast isn't shown on my 2000 OS map.

Access road said 'private' but easy alternative via the adjacent (muddy) field. Trig has a GPS plaque but the location is a bit dull. Revisited 27 May 2008 - plug intact; loops protruding above top surface - one broken off; FB facing fence; flaking paint with GPS plaque still there. Suburban landscape on a drizzly afternoon.
