Pulled over on roadside next to farm or stables on west side of the road, immediately south of the lane turning to the west. Looked along hedge on east side of road, then spotted pillar about thirty metres east of the hedge on a small rise in amongst well established beech trees. Quite a busy country road and overlooked from south by some sort of lorry yard. Through he’d and over fence. Cap missing. Crack across the centre of the pillar and leaning to north. Views limited by trees and overhanging branches.

Lots of nettles around the clump at this time of the year, but they're all quite short and easily trampled if you've got sturdy footwear and trousers. Pillar is still badly cracked, and spider is still on the wonk.
