From first track to the east. Fortunately it's just inside the forest edge rather than over a barbie in the field to west. Sunny April, quiet, with birds song and a few scattered bluebells out.

Cycled down Staplewood Lane from Pooksgreen until I reached the 'You Are Being Watched' gate on the right hand side. The gate was open so I walked on through and followed the track for about 100 metres. Then a less obvious track branches off to the left just after some log piles and blue tarps on the ground. (You can actually see the blue tarps from above on Google satellite images). Follow this track till the edge of the woods and you'll find the pillar standing between two tall trees.

The sign doesn't actually say it is private or that there is 'no entry' - merely that you are 'being watched'. A sunny day and a short stroll in a pleasant wood with dappled sunlight - following the directions of Trigger monster below. As said, the view are limited, but a nice spot.

Pulled in at gate on north west side of the lane after turning off the A326. Gate had a country side watch notice on it. From there, headed north west along track, after about 120 metres at next track on the left turned south west and uphill. Another hundred metres and pillar is just before the end of the woods visible against the opening beyond. Reasonable views to the south west from the edge of the clearing. Pleasant location although felt as if someone was watching, maybe the notice on the gate had unnerved me.

This trig is definitely off the vertical and is being moved by the roots of the tree beside it. Have marked it as damaged.

Gates were open when I arrived so parked off road close by. Didn't see any private signs so made a dash for it, easy to find following the tracks.

Cycling down the A326 even pre-rush hour wasnt great. Hopped over gate with Private sign near it and followed tracks to get to the trig. Near edge of woodland so not much of a view.

On the Barker-Mills estate. Took woodland access track from minor road to E of trig, followed to the pillar found on edge of a managed woodland with good farmland views SW. Cap missing, asphalt plug; RHD side sight hole open.

Walked through an open farm gate on to a wide track ignoring the Barker-Mill Estate Private sign. Up the track for a few hundred yards, then up through the woods on the left to find the trig on the border between the woods & a lush green field. Good condition generally, no cap with asphalt filling & one sight hole open. The pillar stands overlooking green fields to the south-west, today surrounded by sprinklings of wood anemones and bluebells. Lovely, albeit cool, spring feel to the day.

Woodland tracks lead from minor road to the SE. Just inside wood, but some views over fields to SW. Remnants of white paint on pillar. Plug missing, hole filled with asphalt.

1st of 4 A quick nip on to private land saw no one but I did see a dear standing within a metre or so of the pillar by the time I got the camera out, it had spotted me and made a run for it.

We took the track up through the wood and then turned right up to the trig. Pleasant woodland with nice views from the trig, but as previously mentioned it is private, although there was nobody around at the time of our visit. Tarmac plug.

Nice wood, private I hink, judging by the hunting seats about 15ft up a couple of the trees. Haven't seen these outside USA.
