Laurencekirk Easy to see but not easy to get to, loads of nettles and brambles and other stuff.

HISTORY: Flush bracket S5701 started life in its original pillar at Conveth on 3rd August 1949 (OS). Nearly seven years later it was moved all of 59m SSW to a new site keeping the same 6-fig grid ref. The present pillar was completed on 27th May 1956 costing 42.0s.0d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NO89/T120 in 1956. Levelled for height in 1973. Last maintained by the OS in September 1973. SITE VISIT: Pillar in good condition. This has since narrowly missed being lost to trunk road realignment. Spider retains original OS plug with stamped font. Flush bracket faces SW. On the edge of a small arable field beside road.
