Just about made it to this famous pillar before dark. After following the drama that this unfortunate trig has been through recently, it was great to see it safe and sound. I think we all owe Marcus the farmer at Alston a pint! The pillar sits approx. 55ft from the cliff edge, and has some damage (presumably from the rescue) to the sides and top. We parked at the pill box on Long Lane from Alston in the gloom of dusk, and almost ran up the lane. I think in fairness you could actually drive up this track virtually to the pillar. Pics are dreadful with the lack of light, but it was great to see this one anyway. Onwards to Hornsea for a pint.

Pillar located near a mound on cliff top. So pleased to finally bag this one as it's days are surely numbered due to coastal erosion. Still, condition is good for now. Sea fret prevented any view to Bridlington Bay, but had a lovely Dad Daughter day and scoring highly due to location and the fact this hero's days appear to be numbered.

A pillar balanced precariously on the cliff edge. It appeals to me that, according to my Budget Android Phone, it is only 22 meters above sea level - and since it is now only 3 meters from the edge on this coast of soft mud, it will probably only take one good winters storm to bring it down onto the beach...
