FBM in good condition. Not easy to get to as hidden behind a tree, up a bank, covered in leaves and protected by brambles. 2 m south of the road and 2 m west of the track.

Good condition FBM well hidden. Followed previous log instructions and after some pruning and bashing through thorns, the FBM was located. In good order, no height tag.

Parked in quarry entrance on N side of road. The FBM is behind the first tree on the right hand side of the gated entrance on the opposite side of road. Visible from the track leading to the gate.

Not easy to spot in the hedge/undergrowth but spotted it in the end and ventured in to give it a hug.

Parked in Hanson quarry entrance. Look for the gated entrance opposite. The FBM is behind the first tree on the right hand side of the entrance.

Arrived on a wet dark evening, thought I would have a look, whilst in the hedge a car stopped and asked me what i was doing, he was the quarry owner, so totally understand his suspensions, after a very quick explanation , he takes me to it and we have a chat about FMB's :) nice chap.appears to be in good condition as far as i could see, will need a good dig out to confirm.

peregrinus' measurements very useful, thanks. Without that, very difficult to locate, buried as it is in dense undergrowth. Height tag missing, but needs digging out to determine if there's any other damage.

A relatively straight forward find thanks to instructions from others. 2m S and 2m W of corner. Literally walk into the entrance of the driveway and step up onto bank to the right. Previous baggers have kindly cleared this of undergrowth. Thanks.

I used the acurate description posted by pereginus to finally locate this one, after reminding myself the shape of an ash tree leaf. There is an OS plaque on it but it was covered in plastic. I only know this because I was clearing the vegetation with a stick and knocked the plaque on when the plastic fell away to reveal the silver plaque underneath. I walked up from the Youth Hostel where I had stayed the previous night as part of a challenge I have set myself to stay in the Youth Hostels in alphabetical order. Do not ask me why as I hav not got an answer for that one.

Hidden by telegraph pole and undergrowth at W side of drive just to E of entrance to Beer Quarry Caves - but I actually found this quite quickly. Height tag missing and rather forlorn, and not much visited.

Aaaaah. I have to concede that this was not the first time looking for this one. But even after re reading previous logs and studying the photos I still could not find this little fella, One red post still in place, and even the blue bin and daffodils matched the photo. Happy hunting to the next visitor.

vgc. Opposite Hampton Beer quarry. 2m S of road, 2m W of track edge, in a kind of alcove between trees, immediately behind an Ash. Just visible, becoming covered in ivy.

Thanks to previous logs this was easy to find.It all looks well tucked up in the bushes, very cosy. There was no hight marked on it that I could see so I took the elevation from the road as 110m. The logged grid ref is also from the road about 2m out so as to get a better average.Sadly for some reason my photos are blured and so I will have to add this to the list of things to do again!

Found in the scrub by Jayne. A man from Beer caves came out to make sure everything was OK. He was interested to know the exact height of the FBM, but unfortunately we didn't have the info to hand.

Well I drove down from Beer Berntsen to the Caves car park and had a quick sniff around but with only a Landranger and no GPS I didn't fancy my chances and no, I didn't find it - bothered! Gets the minimum score because the caves might be worth a look!
