Parked at Waste Disposal site. Struggled to find the FBM, then spotted the brown kettle. There's not much left of the boat. Saw the gas cylinder from the kettle and walked to the FBM. In addition to the other notes here, it's SW of a few conifers. My GPS wasn't much help

Didn't spend as much time looking for this as I would have liked because the clock was ticking for me to still walk the rest of the way into town to get the last bus back to Inverary.

Lol, timing is everything in this game. On the way from Oban to Inverary taking the coastal route. Nice drive on a beautiful day.

Third time lucky but without too much effort on this occasion. Between the three visits we must each have put in over an hour looking for this FBM. But despite all the gorse, brambles, thistles, nettles, high bracken, miscellaneous dumped rubbish, two walls, one deer fence and an overgrown flooded ditch, it was worth it in the end. The undergrowth is now dying down a bit.

Parked at entrance to Waste Disposal Site. The large hole in ground came perilously near to FBM.

60m W of corner of copse, 15m S of deer fence, 5m SE of old boat. Unusually for a FBM there's no decent parking: possible to sneak car onto N verge by a BT box.

Located in waste ground behind a deer fence, amidst gorse, bracken and new oak saplings. Only five metres from iainmac's boat (still there, and with a brown kettle on the thwart!).

Close-up of Lochgilphead FBM The pillar has been used as a thrush's anvil - note the broken snail shells.

Flytipping area - usual bicycle, pram, mattress but why a rowing boat and a teapot. Needs an OS sketch if one available.
