I can say with a reasonable degree of certainty that this FBM has gone. Generally where it was sited a new housing estate has sprung up next to part of the old OS offices at Compass House, and specifically where it was sited is a new house! The main road on this estate is Wilroy Gardens, a nod to William Roy perhaps. ***Update 2 Jan 2015. The OS have confirmed by e-mail to me that the FBM has been destroyed.

I followed Teasel's example and went to reception and asked. After a couple of phone calls they found someone kindly willing to take a break from deskwork and accompany me to the trig and FBM and view of the roof aerials one of which presumably is the Active station.

Drove up to the barrier at the Ordnance Survey headquarters and asked a bemused security guard over the intercom if we could come in and see their trigpoint. We were asked to wait in reception while they worked out what to do with weirdos like us! Then who should arrive but Geoff, from Geoff and Bonnie to show us around :) Bagged the FBM, then the pillar by their picnic tables. Both, unsurprisingly in good condition!
