Straight from my first rivet to my first FBM ! A shame this does not get the attention the nearby rivet gets from being a geocache , this is rather more interesting with it's neat fenced enclosure andmetalwork on granite block . I had to squash a few nettles to get a clear view of the block to photograph it .The metal plate on top engraved with the height is clear and undamaged . Someone seems to have left some tulips , maybe a memorial to the death of height in feet ? Photos to follow.

Located next to the Grand Union Canal in Milton Keynes, this FBM is fully intact, and has a "modern" GPS-Network plaque on the side. However the plaque appears to have been partially painted over with something vaguely green (see photo) and the OS database does not list it any more. One assumes it has been only very recently retired (probably within the last 3 years). One can see why: The chamber is right up close to the edge of a wooded area so that view of the sky at that point is fairly restricted, especially in summer. The fact that another FBM has been established within a few hundred metres in a much more accessible place tends to lend credence to this argument. Nevertheless, a nice green railing round it protects it from passers by quite effectively.
