Here for the Berntsen, thought I'd take the screwdriver and trowel for a walk, probed down to 6", also dug a bit in centre but no luck. Quite easy digging though - next person here bring a spade!

Passed by here (as we usually do) on a circular walk from Wye church to The Crown and back. I can't think why anyone should want to destroy the FBM and leave the railings intact. There is now a tree growing in the playpen. A lot of excavation required to find out if the block is still there- any volunteers ? Not me I'm afraid, I am too well-known in the locality to be seen engaged in such a strange activity !

Now complete with tree !

Spent a short time poking about in the cage trying to find something solid - no joy ! I have passed by here countless times previously, mostly on 4 wheels, sometimes on 2, sometimes on 2 feet; at least I now know what is supposed to be there.

Another failure - though it was getting dark! We didn't know what sort of trig we were looking for though we thought it may be a FBM. No sign of it, though we did find a 3 metre square metal railing apparently containing nothing - or maybe the FBM was there but overgrown? We may try again in better light. ETA: 27/12/04 - went again in better light but still couldn't find it.
