Cycled through Mickelton and parked bike in farmers track. then walked through field with sheep in it. Over gate and along the edge of the earth works. TP is in field full of crops but there is a rather well used path through them to it. It is sitting on a rather nice plinth of stonework. Good views all round.

Out Geocaching with HKMHill doing the Meon Hill Series. This one was just screaming out to be done. Walked up a permissive path to start and then just followed our noses to the top. Good views from the top. Elevation 191 meters.

Done on way back from Stow-on-the-Wold YHA.Much easier to reach than anticapted from map. Left Hidcote to Mickleton road to South near sharp doulble bends. Field access track to start, then rapidly steepening grass field to gate then left across two stubble fields. A warm Sep day. Now only one pillar to visit East of Severn between B'ham and Bristol (missing Dumbleton, farmer stated that area was currently barried off, but access would be possible between Feb and may). Total now at 333 for year and 2223 overall.

Read Mick and Shane's log; then took one look at the contour lines on my OS map and decided that discretion was the better part of valour and decided on an east-side approach, asking permission from Meon Hall [WATCH THE DOGS!!]. This way, past the barn, is much less steep! Fortunately the rain had now stopped but the pea-field has been ploughed and was in a dire state. Anyway, the plug is missing but otherwise it's in good shape. No significant paint. Sightholes below soil level. Good views from here [as one would expect] but those to the S and E are best.

We parked at Upper Quinton and followed the Heart of England Way for about a kilometer until it passes a thin strip of woodland, which heads east up the hill, just past Lower Clopton Farm. At the top of the field there is a stile of sorts which gives access to the hill fort, which suggests there is public access of some sort. It's quite a pull up Jarrett's Brow onto the top. The beans have been replaced with wheat, and it's easy to get to the trig via tractor tracks. Excellent views. GPS plaque. Plug missing. S5067 is the FB no of Waddon Hill, as Father Ted knows, as he visited it on the same day.
