Linked Oxwich pillar to Cefn Bryn via the Penrice Estate, well worth taking this route. We approached from the W and near the end of the day...best part, but surprised to pass another party here at this time. Gower generally very quiet - perfect. Becoming a "silver fox" and living the life is gifted Cefyn Bryn, slipped into afternoon matinées and lo and behold this is where my tribe "hang out". How did that happen?

A substantial uphill yomp leads to this pillar, seemingly sinking into a stony hollow behind a reservoir. Trig bears two Offence To Damage type plaques on one face (one in English, one in Welsh). There's a couple of barriers up on the path just opposite the pillar, which slightly spoil what is otherwise an exceptional view. Recommended.

Visited this pillar during a circular walk from the Gower Heritage Centre and back via Three Cliffs Bay and Pennard Castle. Stunning coastal and inland views almost 360deg and at the time of my visit the weather was perfect making it even more spectacular and rewarding. The pillar is in good condition with the spider and Flush Bracket in place, the Centre plug is missing and only 1 sight hole is open. There are also two plaques one in English and one in Welsh stating that this pillar is part of the active OS GPS System

Walked up from Penmaen car park on a foggy rainy day. First of three for the day in a 10.5 mile hike. Trig sat in a depression. FB, spider and cap intact. Also carrying an OS plaque indicating this trig is part of their GPS network. I’m sure the views would be amazing, but couldn’t see more than a few metres today.

Parked at picnic area east and then easy walk uphill to trig. Great views of Three Cliffs Bay from ridge so went to investigate afterwards. Sunny/breezy conditions. Earlier that day we bagged Rhossili Down, Llanmadoc Hill and Ryer's Down trigs. Afterwards we bagged Bishopston FBM.

Walked up from Penmaen Just past the church past cattle grid on left parking free. Walk 30 minutes up to the left following bridleway clearly marked. Start of Gower Way and marked by stone plate with HRH P. Charles! Trig is in good condition on the right behind some water works site in a sunken depression. Plate, Spider and plug all in place. Has super views of 3 cliffs bay and Oxwich in the distance.

Easy to locate and access. Sunk in slight hole and views to the E obstructed by reservoir. Still, even in very strong winds it was still an enjoyable walk along the ridge and back from the pillar at Reynoldston.

Gower AONB trig bagging day pillar 6/14. Parked at the small picnic area at Penmaen and followed the bridleway up. Mistakenly went into the reservoir compound as that's the highest point. The pillar is actually outside it at its NW corner and is sinking into the ground. Good distant view of the Exmoor hills.

East end of Devonian Breccia ridge. Walked up from lay-by adjacent to Farm & Campsite access and a PRoW. Go straight up drive into dilapidated nursery and turn R through gate which asks you to close it. Along a rough track to a point opposite a longish house and turn up a lateral ascent track uphill. Follow the track then R onto one that leads up to the fenced off engineering works as the pillar is adjacent, in a hollow, and it's quicker than blundering uphill directissima. Watch out for loose cattle and steers. Good views in all directions.

Parked at roadside car park just N of Penrice for a pleasant circular walk returning along coast path. Pillar has a few minor horizontal cracks running just below top surface. Original cap in place, raised lettering; 1 sight hole open; 2 OS plaques - English & Welsh. Extensive views N, S & W, including Lundy Island. E restricted by large covered reservoir on hill summit. Seems this pillar replaced a previous one despite this one's computing year being 1937 and no mention of an earlier pillar in OS database.

This pillar is highly visible and easily accessible. I parked on the road to the north of Nicholaston and just walked up the Open Access hillside to the pillar and adjacent reservoir. Pillar in good condition and retains its original plug. Super location for all round views. I wonder whether the pillar was placed in the depression or it has sunk over the passage of time.

In good condition set in a little dip. Originally, the FB was S1550. Lovely views to both sides of the peninsula. GPS plaques in both English and Welsh. Metal plug with raised lettering.

From this trigpoint I could see Devon & Somerset coast & Exmoor. Pembrokeshire, most of Gower and the Brecon Beacons. Lots of Bronze Age cairns can be seen along the ridge. To the SW is the remains of a chambered long cairn.

Walked along Cefn Bryn from Reynoldston to reach this trig point in fading light and drizzle. Trig is set in a samll hollow adjacent to underground reservoir.

Can anyone explain why this trig is in a hollow? At least it's not in a resevoir compount - nice of Welsh Water to leave it outside. I lived in Sothgate for 18 months in 1980 - you can almost see my old bedroom from the trig point!
