Outstanding weather conditions today. Hardly a breath of wind and nice and mild on the tops. I came up from Pen y Pass over Crib Goch first. Approaching the top of Yr Aran I could see the bolt from at least a dozen metres away with the sun shining off it. It really is that easy to find when you know that it is there. Descended to Beddgelert to round out an excellent day.

The 25000 map shows a Trig Point. Quite a disappointment when no pillar was found. However I suspected a bolt or rivet. Having not researched the point before hand, I looked for and found easily the prominent bolt. Good views as the cloud cleared.

On return from Yr Wydffa to Rhyd Ddu. Did not really look too hard , sadly, overtaken by events, a walker died up here today.

Giving a 10 for a DNF is unheard of by me but then again it was a stunning day up here today. Not much wind, great vies all round but no bolt that I could find. I saw a trig marked on the map but was not too suprised not te see one up here as it is not mentioned in the Nutalls walk description. I loked around for the remains but did not see anything not a bolt. It may be burried under an expanding cain by now.

A lovely spot and worth the hard work to get here. There was a swarm of flying ants who had made the cairn their home so i didn't go poking around for the bolt. Great views all around including Crib Goch.

Large stud at the base of the summit cairn, spotted on arrival. Could easily get covered by the cairn spreading out. Shown as a trig on my 2006 OL17 map. Good View to Snowdon and Y Lliwedd over Watkins Path.

A bit of a mystery - although there was some sort of metal blob near the summit cairn. Couldn't find any evidence of a normal trig.

Looks like Surface block, at/under edge of summit cairn. Trig symbol on 1:25k, was on old 1st series 1:50k map too, but doubt if ever a pillar. Meol Meirch has a bolt too [finally found it years later]. Great summit & view. (I was back here 9 Dec 2006, briefly at night during John Fleetwood's winter Paddy Buckley Round. I made a brief search but couldn't refind the trig pt.)
