No FB, just base of concrete pillar in tumulus with beer cans in grassy pasture near forest edge. Accessible from track to north along fence line. Descend south to road on grassy pasture with vague track.

Walk from Clydach Vale Country Park via Mynydd William Meyrick to visit this TP so as to truly have visited every TP on the OS 170 Vale of Glamorgan & Rhondda map. Good walk and interesting remains but the burial cairn is in a very bleak setting; albeit not as bad as Werfa opposite.

Don't normally go to remains but had just come back from Nant - Hir and Llangeirnor so thought it a shame not to go.

Lump of concrete remaining with centre pipe making this trig still recognisable. Sitting in the centre of Crug yr Afan. Parked nearby and had simple 5min walk to top along track. Second today after locating bolt at nearby Craig Ogwr.

Parked at lay-by over looking Abergwnfi. Short walk up hill to site of trig around edge of forestry. Lies on top of the Crug Yr Afan Tumulus. Large chunks remain. Small fragment of the FB still attached to trig.

Came up here after doing some walking on the ridge south of the main road. Sad to see the trig point in the state it is in.

Cant add much to earlier logs.Rhayader covers most points. Parking is not good but can either go through barriers at entrance to track that leads to Llaneignor or bin it beyond the white lines like I did. Good views.

Not much to add; trig on/in bouldery tumulus, composed of stone infilled with concrete; FB has been broken off leaving the metal root embedded in concrete (hence the FB S1596 couldnt be reused - replacement Mynydd Blaen Gwynfi in forest nearby used S1799). Clear weather, so got a few photos. Llangeinor masts just visible beyond trees. Some (rather bizarre) history here: http://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm21142

Found the directions on how to log a new trig with a search on the forum. So as noted on Llangeinor this is a definite new location for this group. The trig is located in the summit area of Twyn Crugyfan a Dewey summit on the opposite side of the road to Llangeinor with a track leading to it opposite the access way to the transmitter station. The trig is located in a hollowed area at the summit and is in similar condition to llangeinor site holes and central tube are still present but the top has been removed and there is no FB visible. Sadly I was at this point running late for a meeting and the weather was too poor for any decent photos however from the moss present I would have to say this has been at this location for some time and has the appearance of being in situ rather than dumped I mused on my llangeinor log as to if this was the original site for that trig however Rod Sladen informs me that Llangeinor was rebuilt on the same site so it would appear that this is totally separate. For typing etc, it was a pillar but more than that would be a guess the grid reference may also be up to 20m out as I have relied on the Dewey summit grid ref as I was without GPS for this part of my walk. Rod has followed this up further and has a detailed brief via an OS contact (not me) of the origins of this location at http://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm21142 where amongst other things he has learnt that the correct name is that of the mound it rests upon Crug yr Afan rather than the mountain.
