Parked at Greenham Common control tower car park, walked back out the exit, East along the road a bit then crossed over into the bushes. Trig is toppled with FB removed, near its newer neighbour in trees on the edge of a golf course.

This is another pillar I was unaware of the presence of until investigating this website. In addition I completely failed to notice it whilst bagging the surviving Greenham pillar in Feb 2021. So a revisit to Greenham set the record straight. In this instance (unlike Cottingtons Hill) toppled is correct as this pillar remains more or less in its original position and a matter of a few yards from its upright and very good condition replacement. No spider, no FB either.

Moss covered horizontal ex-trig sans metalwork, lying dead at the feet of its replacement. Easily accessed by scrambling up a roadside embankment.

The old trig point is easy to find at the moment lying a few yards from the new trig. The F.B looks to have been removed on the upwards face of the trig and the spider is missing.

Found this one whilst geocaching in the area. Toppled, damaged (decapitated) and most likely moved, too. Interesting to see the foundations that are most normally hidden from view, but otherwise not much to see. FB hidden against the ground, so can't confirm its number. nifta [#7]

Large carpark just across the road, plenty of buildings around to remind us of the cold war. Located on the edge of one of the fairways of the Newbury & Crookham Golf Club. Pillar is in a sorry state with its spider missing. The substantial foundations that the OS deemed necessary for these pillars are clearly on display. FB is face down so not able to determine its status. Approx 6m from the current pillar.

Noticed when bagging TP3492 which is a few yards away. Unsure if this fallen trig is the original Greenham trigpoint or if it is dumped here from a nearby development.

S6936 is 10m N of road, 30m E of roundabout; the dead S5544 is 8m SE of S6936, lying in hollow, intact except FB and spider gone. S5544 according to benchmarks.org.uk, which states: "[SU77/T24] pillar reported destroyed 1954; replaced by adjacent Greenham TP [SU77/T219] with FB S6936."
