Slight cracking to one face. Typical narrow Hydro pillar design. Neatly lettered cap "HMS COOK 1951" Landed off RIB onto wide rock shelf (needs fairly calm sea) and scrambled easy slabs to pillar which is at summit. Very nice little island. Group charter out of Ullapool, also visiting 2 other hydro pillars: the similarly Sgeir an Araig, and Sitheanan Dubha (Isle of Ewe).

Landing point viewed from the boat We landed on rock shelf just R of centre, then walk L and easy scramble up. Luckily pretty calm conditions

Bit more to explore here than Sgeir an Araig and the sun coming out too. A beautiful little island in grand surroundings. There appears to be a reasonably sheltered spot just to the west of the pillar where adventurous types could pitch a tent for the night. Just check the weather forecast very carefully first!
