I walked up from Grisedale Crossing to the south east (SD 79212 93495) after alighting the 08.26 Skipton to Carlisle train at Garsdale. A brilliant ramble up in good weather over South Lunds Pasture/Turner Hill, then followed the fence line on good paths/ATV tracks all the way to summit, a bit squelchy underfoot in parts. I called in at The Moorcock Inn for a couple of pints before my train back to Skipton.

3rd Ringo gringo of the day. From Shaw paddock via Pasture Rigg which looked worse than it turned out. Once the 500m contour was hit going was pretty reasonable if not a tad wet and only 50 minutes from road to ring. Swarth Pike is a lovely spot. The views in these parts to the Howgills are superb. Ring in good nick again so far as is apparent. Though as with that on Sails this too is somewhat overgrown. Off to WBF now..

Path to East House, open moor west of Round Ing Gill and on to Swarth Fell & the cairns on the west of WBF from which is a superlative view of the Howgills. Open moor to WBF trig then The Nab and descent via High/Low Dolphinstry, Little Fell, Greenlaw Rigg, bridleway to Moor End and road the Kirkby Stephen station. Fabulous walk, Id forgotten how good it was!

That will teach me to read the TUK site before leaving home for any new entries. This is especially frustrating as I made a detour to Swath Fell Pike as I thought it may be on some Mountain lists and therefore baggable.

Lettering distinct and in good condition. Conical centre bolt. Not quite visible from the path on the other side of the fence but the station was exposed so surprising that it hasn't been noticed before.
