Tricky to find initially, but easily cross referenced the pillars new location from the previous pictures. Farmer in field didn't stop to ask questions.

I had intended to walk from the road to the East at the airfield memorial stone, but the field contains a bean crop. Headed South and left bike at fenced road maintenance compound at junction with road to Draughton at SP776771. To the left of this compound a well used unofficial footpath leads to the Southernmost of the Thor launch sites. The pillar is at the very (Southern) end of the debris filled pit.

Great find, thanks to the people before for the brilliant instructions. First Project Emily trigs we have ever seen and we get two together. Details are as previous logs. Amazing how much of the Thor implacements are still there. I had thought they were all destroyed years ago.

Moved and Toppled - Agreed! Great Find - I parked at the end of the bridleway to the South then up an over field (through tractor ruts) to concrete wasteland - pillar lying on its side in drain thing, still at least it is still around, intersting area lots of history.

Again congratulations on this find. I also found one of the near-by bolts (numbered 17/6).

Harrington South - great find by Paul Bellamy. Lying in shallow nettly concrete tank, with spider removed; scar on one face presumably means a removed FB although the 4th face is inaccessible. No FB number on record apparently. 178m due E of original location. A Quail heard calling nearby was an added bonus.

Moved and toppled pillar, dumped on its side in the LOX Tank pit on the southernmost Thor launch emplacement. Flush Bracket crudely removed, top damaged and spider missing. Plenty of other numbered Thor-era Survey Bolts to be found on the adjacent launch emplacements too.
Location Looking up the Liquid Oxygen Tank pit of the southern Thor Launch Emplacement to the missile holdfast and blast walls. Trig in foreground.
Bolt I7/P2 Central LE, missile launch centreline position
Bolt I7/5 Southern LE, Short-range Electrotheodolite platform.

Project Emily Site #17. 50m into an arable field, harvested and recently ploughed at time of visit: no trace of pillar. Harrington North at SP 77224 77926 same story. Several large and quite well preserved Project Thor missile base related mass concrete structures are nearby but the runways been broken up with the exception of a concrete road / taxiway with the N-S bridleway follows. Plenty of old concrete around, much of it being drainage pipe surrounds (a feature familar to Emily-hunters). The trigs may be lurking in vegetation but I assume they were taken away with the main runway debris. They are certainly not where they should be - no surprise having looked at aerial mapping some time ago. No FB number on record for either pillar, it seems.
