No views for me at the top today, swirling icy mists gave me a testing exercise in orienteering skills (not that I was moving at a fast pace). Two falls: crashed to the ground ascending on an icy patch; then coming down skidded on the scree track. How appropriate that I was playing Neil Young's 'Old Man' on the way here! Returned to Dalwhinnie fortunately unscathed, where I visited the station with its cozy waiting room and nostalgic photographs.

My Munro #110 climbed alone. 'Tourist Route' up the quarry track from the A9, then on to Carn na Caim. Used some iron fence posts to create a number '111' as this was my 111th Munro at the time, only for the subsequent demotion to Corbett status of Sgurr nan Ceannaichean to spoil the significance of '111'...a day of stunning weather and easy walking.

Munro no.91. Climbed from track up from A9. Did this one before going on to Carn na Caim. After leaving the track crossed a slight gully, then reached the summit area. Fortunately it was a clear day otherwise this would have been a difficult one to find. Best of the view was to distant peaks south-westerly
