This took some digging up again. Surprised how buried this was since it was last exposed.

1" bolt in block, at front edge of verge at 'layby' level, about 1m before verge slopes down. As per sketch, 14.4 east and 17.8m west of electricity poles. Was under an inch of soil, left partially exposed.

Used previous photos from this site to locate, but still not easy to find as it was well and truly covered. There is a concrete block close by at the surface that looks like a bag of hardened cement. But the real block is a little to the right, nearer the junction. Have left it uncovered for ease of finding in the future.

Measured it out, and success. Just in the verge by the flattened parking area. Beware the broken glass.

Found what looks like a block but I'm sure I was digging too far to the left. Didn't continue searching for the correct block/bolt for fear of wrecking my snow shovel! Must remember to pack my spade when coming out on these trips!

I measured out three of the distances from the OS diagram and where they roughly met, I cleared a one foot diameter area of the vegetation.I dug down into the earth and soon hit something solid. I scraped away some soil and there was the bolt.

I noticed this passive station added to the database in July 2011. I did not log it earlier because when I visited the site I did not find it; although I have to confess to not looking very hard. The bolt should be situated on the grass/ gravel verge of the junction of a farm track and a minor road to the north west of Devizes. The site is in flat agricultural land with no views due to the roadside hedgerows. The summit of Roundway Hill can just be seen over the hedges to the east and Furze Hill to the south.
