(870) The entrance way has huge stones dotted across it now. Still, enough of a gap to squeeze through to be able to park off the main road. Everything overgrown and wild, and thinking the rivet was further down that it actually was, and finding no sign, I feared that this might now be gone. But rechecking T:UK and using CJO's measurements, I soon located it. All good.

Small rivet found on kerb covered in moss on westside of track to the north of the gate. 14.37m and 16.7m from gate hinges. Also a FENOMARK at this station number. this is same as previuosly reported by TED. I am in little doubt it is the trigmark, TED was a little more cautious.

At the NE end of a group of 3 Fenomarks, this one is to the N of the M62. GPS pointed toward W edge of former quarry track on N side of lane but again within tarmac area. No sign of Fenomark. In the OS trig marks database the original mark is flagged as 'destroyed' (and with an order of 13 which might be a typo). Replacement rivet in database recorded with identical coordinates - would have expected the coords to change a little if it was a new mark. Found an OS-like rivet in a kerb stone, slightly further north. Perhaps this is the mark in question but the position doesn't match. A somewhat flat hill.

Out in the area to bag a few of the local pillars and this appeared on the radar. Looked all along the kerb, tarmac and undergrowth but could not spot anything resembling anything other than rubbish.
