HISTORY: Pillar completed 22nd February 1938, cost not on record. Computed as secondary triangulation station SO79/7 within the Bridgnorth block during 1948. Levelled to Class 1 standards during 1951. Pillar destroyed October 1970 and replaced by a buried block. The replacement buried block was destroyed in February 1971. SITE VISIT: Pillar and station dating from 22/02/1938 are destroyed. A new pillar station was set up nearby in October 1970 and named Mogg forest, FB No.11444. The original pillar was several metres into arable field. The replacement pillar is at the field edge.

Arrived YHA Wilderhope Manor a bit early so up here to bag the replacement Mogg Forest pillar - hill (Fegg Hill) also a Tump.

Noticed that this appeared as a record on TPUK Oct 2011, so adding a retrospective log. Site visited 17 Apr 2006 whilst checking the adjacent Mogg Forest trig; no remains found. OS trig marks database states that the Larden Grange tp was replaced by a buried block 10/70 which in turn was destroyed 02/71.

GR implies original pillar was 12m SE of replacement 11444 Mogg Forest; i.e. trig was relocated at field edge

Visited the site unwittingly when up at Mogg Forest. No calves, cats or Jane Austin rejects were present.
