Parked in the Severn Trent station and walked through hole in the hedge, new crops in field so we stuck to the very outer edge of the field which was waterlogged in places, startled a deer in nearby trees. Got as close as we could at spotting the trig but I didn't want to traipse over the growing crops so took a photo from the side of the field before making our way back down again. Bit of a weird shed thing in the hedge spooked me out a bit.

re-visit. A straight forward visit today having originally struggled to make "first contact"! I had attempted from village where mapped PROW didn't exist anymore and only way seemed through a garden, then from lane to East when didn't want to make way up edge of ripe crop, and thirdly from lane again when freshly ploughed and very wet, before success on 4th visit. Started from gate near Severn Trent building and up field margin and finally machine tracks. Ground like concrete and cracked. Large areas of seeding haven't germinated. Pillar in excellent condition.

Parked just passed the gateway. Through gate, followed the line of the PRoW adjacent to the east of the first pool then west bank of the more southerly pool - no fishing here! through gate secured shut by barbed wire then over planted cereal field. Very muddy unsurprisingly. Decent views around. Sun shining brightly on large building in Stafford.

Easy enough from the north - once you accept that the marked footpath doesn't exist, as others have said. Through a couple of grassy fields (close the gates, daft cattle in abundance), then over the last gate past the pond, and the trig is just in the next field. Crop recently harvested, so it was an easy bag.

Over the gate straight up the field to another gate.Through this and keep to right of a pond to another gate.Through this and the TP is in the field. At time of visit,TP could only be seen by standing on the gate as the field was full of growing wheat. Keep to tractor tracks and you shouldn't damage much crop.
