A long walk out of King's Lynn was required along the river Ouse and out towards the wash. The pillar was tricky to access owing to a barbed wire 'prison' but I made it in the end. A lovely summer day though with 'big skies'.

Admiralty Point. Looking east Admiralty Point is located on a former sea defence wall.

(2066) I'd tried for this one when I was last in area (Oct 2020 - just prior to lockdown) but was searching in the wrong area, and hadn't realised my mistake until much later. Making amends today. Parked at the carpark at the end of Ongar Hill. Steady enough walk along the embankment, which gave me wet feet and trouser bottoms for the rest of the day, to the pillar. Plenty of sheep with lambs in the field, so viewed the pillar from the fence only. FB partly submerged, so the number wasn't really readable. A gouge/scrape runs the width of the pillar just above the FB. All else appears good. But nice to have ticked this one off, even if I couldn't get as close as I would have liked. Pillar history: Built on the 27th of June 1953, at a cost of £24 10s 0d. Last maintained by the OS in August of 1979.

KF This trig used to be on a footpath which traversed the old sea bank but appears to have been diverted on to the new sea bank. We parked in the road end car parking area and as there was no trace of the old footpath then walked out to the new sea bank and followed it round to the spur which juts out from the old sea bank at the trig. A stile here gives access to the drain side which can be followed to below the trig.
