Small block and slighly bent rivet near the topograph. Better views of Cheltenham than the nearby Leckhampton Hill trig. Previously noted by edfielden and tom under Leckhampton Hill; now a separate page. Photos taken 28/1/12.

Parked in car park to SE of trig near Hill Farm and walked along track to area of Access Land atop Leckhampton Hill. Rivet in Cotswold limestone a few metres from topograph - itself 100m west of the Leckhampton Hill pillar (see log for TP4391). No GPS position taken.

The trig is sited near the top edge of a quarry on Leckhampton Hill on the edge of the Cotswolds to the south of Cheltenham. On the ground at the trig position is a 10” square block with a small rivet sized piece of weathered metal in its centre. My walk started from the car park on Daisy Bank Road to the north. Highlights included the inclines and kilns associated with the old quarry and the Devil’s Chimney. There are some very pleasant woods on the lower slopes of the escarpments. The views from the Cotswold Way on the top of Leckhampton and Hartley Hills are fabulous. Close to the trig a topograph has been erected. The site has an impressive view over Cheltenham and Gloucester. Cleeve Hill and Bredon Hill can be seen to the north. The Malvern Hills are to the north west and distant hazy Welsh Mountains can be seen in the west. The glint of the Severn can be seen to the south west. Shab Hill is to the south. The hill top grass land, the quarry workings and the north and west escarpment slopes have been designated the Leckhampton Hill and Charlton Kings Common SSSI.
