Concrete post next to trig pillar; remains of metal tube insert and broken off wooden post which will have made the original higher. Puzzled by previous 2 logs: definitely there today: Rick Salter my witness :-)

Pleased that I have delayed the logging of my visit to the pillar as I wondered what the Post was. From RW's subsequent log I now know! Nothing really to add.

This was apparently similar to the nearby Grange Fell Post 6 miles to the east. Unfortunately here at The Hass there is nothing obvious 2-3m SW of the pillar apart from an ominous slight dip in the ground. The pillar itself has a pronounced lean to the west so it is entirely possible that a grazing cow in the pasture or some farm machinery has done for it. My grid ref is for the dip in the ground the correct distance and bearing from the pillar.
