Parking SSE at field entrance, walked field boundary to trig, fields either side planted with oil seed rape, right up to the edges; boundary planted with thistle! With shorts there was never going to be a good outcome - except to bag the hill and pillar! As others have noted - trig is not at hill summit, that's another little mission as nettle infested. Pillar in good condition; cap missing, asphalt plug; RHD side sight hole open. On boundary between arable field and scrubby copse.

As others, parking to the south east, then along field edge, don't make the same mistake as me and assume the pillar is located on the top of the nettle covered mound, after getting stung to within an inch of my life I then find the pillar located next to the mound still in the field! Pillar good condition, farmland views and views or the M40 including the cutting to the south known locally as "Chicken Shit Alley" :)

Fairly simple. Parked in gateway with wife guarding the car. Walked up the eastern side of the field boundary - muddy! Pillar round the corner of the field boundary guarded by nettles just on the edge of the tree line. Good views to the south to the Chiltern Escarpment and to the SW along the scarp face. Returned down the west side of the hedge as it wasn't as muddy.

Walked up the field boundary from the South East (which I see most others have done). Near the top there is a mound covered in nettles. I was in shorts and was thinking life might get painful, but the Trig was to be found round behind the mound. I was puzzled as to why the trig was not on the top, but when I got to a map, if shows the mound as an ancient monument, so I presume they had to let it be. There are views back at the Chiltons and the huge motorway 'gash' through the middle of them. Me 144m

Access to this trig point can be obtained by skirting the field to the south of the trig. The trig itself has a slight crack and hole near the top, the plug has been filled and it is quite weather worn. Mind you, so would I be, sitting out in a field for all that time ;) Good views to be had to the South East, with the M40 visible to the East.
