Parked at Farlington Marshes car park off roundabout at junction of A27/A2030 and walked down to check on this one which had been clearly visible when driving down the Eastern Road back in July. Had thought we would go back when works had been finished, but should have stopped then as this has almost certainly been moved/destroyed as part of the North Portsea Island Coastal Defence Scheme! Can now confirm that this has gone having emailed ESCP to ask what had happened to it - they said that "Unfortunately the pillar was damaged beyond repair during the works and is no longer onsite. There may be an alternative marker put up in the future, but this may not be for some time, once the coastal works are completed in 2016."

I've been wrong before and I'm happy to be wrong again but I couldn't see the pillar from the road and I fear the worst. There look to be some large-scale repairs to the the sea defences going on and a large security fence (and the busy road!) meant I didn't access the site to be sure. Sunday so no one around to ask either.

Parked to N in parking area just off A27 roundabout overlooking Langstone Harbour. Walked along Solent Way to trig. Seems to have been some flooding here and there is now high metal fencing all along E side of A2030 making access to trig awkward, but there is one spot where a belly crawl can be made underneath it! Some minor chipping to top edges; cap missing, no plug; rear and RHD side sight holes open. Good views across mud flats of Langstone Harbour to Hayling Island. Persistent road noise intrusive.
