Intended paying the entrance fee to mount the tower, but sadly at 8.15am it wasn't open. Previous loggers have attested to its destruction.

Too tight to pay the 4.50 fee to go up the top of the tower to see something that's not even supposed to be there. Still, beautiful scenery all around.

The bolt was on the stone floor at the top, just under 6 metres due north of the flagstaff (OS GRs). Pace it across to the corner, just left of the closed NE turret. There is a circular mark on the floor, about 30cm across, lighter than surrounding stone, with broken fixing points. The bolt will have been in the centre of that. Pouring with rain, windy, so I doctored my photos. See separate log page for flagstaff - intersected station. And what about this? I was paying my money, and I suddenly realised I could get a Senior Persons discount. But the bloke said, thats OK sir, I already assumed that! Cheeky whatsit. I'm going to dye my hair.

Tower well worth a visit, it will cost 4.50 interesting museum. agree with previous logs nothing apparent on the roof (assuming it was on the roof and not on the ground nearby?)I asked the guy that worked there, he had no knowledge of anything OS related, I asked if there was access to the turrets, and was advised not unless you have a ladder, so would suggest it is not on the turrets. Amazing views - so windy today.

I looked for the Bolt on the roof of Broadway Tower, but had no joy. I did not have a tape measure. The flagstaff is present (and the coordinates listed on the OS Site), and that may provide a guide as to whether the Bolt should be on the main roof or on one of the turrets, which is not readily accessible. The roof is a very good view point.

Walked up from Broadway following the Cotswold Way on a nice sunny afternoon. The tower was built in 1799 & stands at 312m. I paid 4 to visit. The views are fantastic. Carried on walking to a large toposcope on Fish Hill, then back.
