After picking up the trailer we visited this lovely park it's IS and FBM, unfortunately I didn't know it was also a TUMP and never ventured up to the high point. http://www.hill-bagging.co.uk/mountaindetails.php?qu=S&rf=18871

Station SD47/INT001 computed to 3rd order in 1983. The database shows the station had previously been computed in 1950 and destroyed in 1966, but clearly not the memorial. Presumably the observed component (the vane?) was removed and replaced. A striking building, visible from the M6.

It rained, just after I got the FBM in sun! The Ashton Memorial was commissioned by Lord Ashton as a tribute to his late wife. It was designed by John Belcher and completed in 1909. Looks like it was re-calibrated in 1966
