I parked in Folleigh Lane and took the public footpath, then the well-defined but unofficial paths through the bracken in the generally right direction, and emerged on to the south side of the 4th green. There were a few golfers putting on the green who ignored me as I kept close the wall to get to the 5th tee, where this former buried block of the original pillar now stands proud of the ground.

From Clarken Coombe on RoW initially then along edge of golf course by stone wall. When is a Surface Block not a Surface Block? When it's an Elevated Block! Approx 12" square block standing several inches proud of the ground. Was undecided about the headless Bolt in centre of block, but giving it a scratch test with trusty Swiss Army knife, it seems to be metal.

After gaining access via main entrance made long stroll to this. Golfers did not seem too happy as I walked the course. Kept asking if I was lost. I had gain permission from club shop. You need a token from shop to be able to leave the car parking area.

An unusual surface block to the side of the 5th tee. Bolt is somewhat truncated

The position of the trig is next to the fifth tee on the edge of a golf course on a small hill to the north of Long Ashton. The golf course was reached from the bend in the road at Clarken Coombe. On the ground is a 1 foot square concrete block standing several inches proud of ground level. The site mainly has a view south through nearby trees to Dundry, Yanley and other low lying ridges and hills of North Somerset.

This probably replaces the pillar S3268 which appears to have been moved out of the way of the hitters of the little white ball (sad people !!!)
