My second visit, different route - parked to the SW rather than NW of the pillar & monument. As before, another pleasant woodland walk and great panoramic views from the hilltop. With Richard Hoban, his 5th OS Trig Point with me, in a previous life we visited hundreds of football grounds together.

Retrospective log, I didn't start cataloguing or visiting 'Intersected Stations' until the Covid Lockdowns restricted how far one could travel to bag OS TPs. Subsequently realised I'd bagged this one when visiting Peniel Heugh Pillar. And a very fine and worthwhile bag it is!

Striking monument adjacent to the triangulation pillar. There is a plaque on it which reads: Lat: 55 32' 5.6" Long west: 2 32' 45.6" or in time 10.11.1 Level of base above level of sea: 774 feet. Marker stone T.M.B. 13th March 1835. Great spot!
