Parked in Parsley Hay car park on 31/2 hour ticket. Planned to do Lean Low TP and continue down the Tissington Trail to Biggin , head East across to the TP and then back up the Mid-shires trail. All went wrong at Lean Low - unable to find anybody at LL farm to grant access, plenty of noisy dogs though, so changed plan to pick-up on return journey by heading back across to Hartington old station and coming at Lean Low from the West side, crazy figure of eight route. Lovely walk off the A515 at Biggin across the fields, ponies, sheep & lambs seemed to be enjoying some Feb sunshine. Good views from the TP but old brick works at Friden does not really enhance views to the North. Pillar - All metal work intact.

On a day walking from Parwich with my mate, Tracker Dog, on paths, tracks, trails and lanes. Got to the trig after wandering down Cardlemere Lane by mistake, so took a north over the fields and over an awkward wall and barbed wire. Great views all round and Aleck Low nearby, had to give it a higher score than the 5's most seem to suggest.

Bit of a rush today, so just a short one. Parked opposite Cardle View, then up through the hens, and the sheep, and the horses, and God knows what. Straightforward apart from the minor diversion off the path for the last hundred yards. Ducked under the fences around the pond. All very average. Day improved in Biggin where we found the Waterloo open and were able to sit outside in the warm February sunshine.

A short walk over from Biggin with a gentle climb across fields of long grass and views back towards Wolfscote Hill. Pillar had a few cows for company but they were not threatening. Pillar itself in good condition with original metal cap. Followed the PROW down the other side of Aleck Low across a field of wheat or barley before picking up the Peninne Bridleway and then a walled lane into Pikehall. Along A5102 and down into Long Dale at SK204592. A lovely peaceful walk along the dale which was full of wildflowers and butterflies. Continued through Bolderstone plantations emerging onto a lane at SK174612. Followed this lane through Friden and down to the A515 before taking PROW across fields from Stanedge Grange to Over Hide Farm and back into Biggin. A great day out after all the rain of recent weeks.
