The trig is next to a fence, gate and summit direction plinth. Pristine white, spider missing. The temperature inversion provided brilliant views of Arthurs Seat as it gradually emerged from the cloud line. Plenty of folk out experiencing this wonderful location.

Parked at the Midlothian Ski Centre (shame it was closed today) and did a lovely circular walk taking in Caerketton, Allermuir and Capelaw Hills. Although the wind chill was biting on the summit, we stood for a while taking in the stunning views across Edinburgh and beyond, including the new Queensferry Crossing. Our first venture into the Pentlands and we were very impressed with the walking and scenery, so we'll be back to explore further, hopefully when it's a wee bit warmer!
