Accessed via Annandale Way. Inversion conditions today and emerged out of the thick fog into glorious sunshine near the pillar. Fine location.

Parked at farm after seeing farmer 1st field grass 2nd sea of mud after bulls in field for weeks Good views but mud spoilt it so earned a low score Nice monument Sunny

HISTORY: Pillar completed 27th July 1958 costing 38.6s.3d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NY29/12 within the Lockerbie block during 1959. Levelled for height to Class 1 precision, tertiary standards in 1973. Last maintained by the OS in August 1966. SITE VISIT: Pillar in good condition. Spider centre plugged with tar. Flush bracket faces south, compass meaurement 172. All four sight holes open, innards blocked with debris.
