Parked at the visitor centre and set off up the hill on good paths. Although we started in a drizzle, it was throwing it down by the time we reached the summit. We huddled in the shelter of the monument to fire up the app on the phone before stepping back out into the teeth of the deluge. After checking the obvious outcrops of rock, we concentrated on the grassed area to the south of the obelisk. Just as my trousers started feeding water into my boots, bingo. One foot square concrete pad with 1/4" rod type bolt in the centre. Well worth the drooking. With CJ.
