Looked below pile of stones and dug down about a foot. Prodded all about but only uncovered stone.

Good parking at the top of Roehead road and a lovely stroll to the top via a Roman Seat. Surprised to see a limestone scar so close to a classic view of Ullswater. Sat on the cairn and assumed I was near enough.

Easy walk up from the road end at Roehead fine views here in the late evening sun didn't bother dismantling cairn.Surprisingly never done this one before thought it would be a bland summit but was in for a surprise!

Did with p61 at the end of a great day in lakes. Did not remove stones from cairn. Just enjoyed the lovely views over ullswater.

Took the cairn apart, goes down quite deep to soil and small stones, not possible to excavate that without tools. Got rid of the mass of small stones and rebuilt cairn with just the larger ones making subsequent dismantling much easier. Need a prodder, a pick and a spade for this one!

Had a quick look inside the cairn, but nothing visible. Didn't attempt complete dismantling. On a circuit via Loadpot Hill and the prehistoric landscape of Askham Fell.

Nothing obvious on the surface. I had a brief look inside the cairn but couldn't see anything.

Walk from Askham visiting various ancient sites. Assumed Block was buried beneath cairn which is where GR was recorded. Lovely views overlooking Ullswater.
