Strangely we were the only people pawing at some soil, never mind all part of enjoyingy a return after a long gap to this grand landmark. The remains of Lord Leverhulme's gardens are superb as is the moody top being tumbled by cloud and the bird filled woods. Even on a murky day Ribble and Mersey estuaries, Bowland, Weaver and Clywydian all visible.

Approached from N via steep stony track then steps up to the tower. Easy to find now that the location has been determined correctly. Just as well that the block was on the surface as the ground was baked hard. Hazy distant views

Great find Mick and Kim Super location but had a real struggle finding it as there are two twin sets of benches !!! Almost gave up until a young lad asked what I was looking for and said "Do you know there are two sets of benches try the other side " Soon the station was quickly found ,also a cut benchmark on the nearby tower. Fairly good views very mild and the rain held off whilst I bagged many fine benchmarks in the area.

Been here countless times and can’t find it. This time found a hole in the ground and had a look but nothing. Too many people around to start prodding and digging. Will return again. Plus why have other loggers got smiley face emojis when they clearly havent found it

Been here many, many times. Never found it. The view is worth the effort. Hopefully someone will unearth it someday!

Depression below benches but no equipment today. No photos on site of a surface block but only the folly so maybe destroyed with the number of visitors this folly gets.

GPS showed surface block to be about 10m SW of folly. No sign of it on the ground and it was a bit busy to start digging. My GPS reading is for the folly. Walked from Wilderswood.
