Rod in block, partially exposed. Easy to find from CJO's description. Possibly the station name should be Notton Grange Lane (transcription error?).

On 4 m wide grass verge on south side of road. 1.35 m from road edge. 11.30 m from 40 mph sign which is adjacent to grate. 9.1m direct from grate. Rod type rivet. Local dogwalker, who was an ex merchant navy navigator was exceptionally interested (and so were his dogs in the hole at least).

Found exact location from GPS but unable to find block - may be missing but grass verges are very long
