Gps suggested field side of low bank or possibly under bank. Stony ground, quick search only.

GPS points to manhole cover on section of road most likely not affected by the more modern road construction. Farmer drove up and asked what we were doing even though we were on the road side of his field boundary. He laughed at our explanation and said "we'd never find it, 'cos it wasn't there". And he may well be right as we didn't. Its possibly still hiding in the tall grass. Another job for the Autumn for someone local.
