A Category A listed building; construction lasted 7 years with completion 1869. Entrance fee to the monument now £10.50 (10% reduction for SNT and SNH membership). Walked up to the tower bagging the 3 rivet benchmarks on the way, along with the pivot on the monumnet, and the tump summit (Abbey Craig). Declined to pay the cash to climb the tower.
