Spoke to farmer. Possibly in/on hedge line, but both tracks nearby had been heavily hard cored, including large chunks of concrete, bricks and tarmac. Had a dig for a couple of things, but they turned out to be tarmac so admitted defeat. Its probably still there.

Walked up from minor road to south. Friendly cows in field. If block still exists it's probably buried in a substantial hedgerow. Made some token prods but a hopeless task. Started raining so good excuse to terminate a fool's errand!

The site of the trig is in the corner of a field on the western edge of the flat summit of a small hill between Paulton and Radstock. There was no sign of the trig on the surface. I parked on the edge of Paulton on Clandown Road; there is a footpath leading to the trig site a little further down the road. The site has a view north to Hayeswood Farm Hill, west over Paulton to Hinton Blewett Hill and south to the Mendips.
