HISTORY: Pillar completed 25th August 1957 costing 30.18s.0d. Levelled for height to Class 1 precision, tertiary standards during 1958. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NG24/T48 in 1959. Last maintained by the OS in April 1968. SITE VISIT: Approached from southeast. Parked in wide entrance in front of cattle pen to northwest of road junction at NG267433. Straightforward walk across rough ground to top. Grazing top. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with raised large narrow letters. Flush bracket faces ESE, compass measurement 105. Vented through sight hole on FB face. Full 360 panoramic view includes Glamaig, the Cuillin ridge, Wiay, Rum, Canna, MacLeod's Tables, Waterstein Head, Beinn Na Creiche, Harris.

not the summit, a fact I'd failed to check on my notes on the correct map, necessitating are-visit early morning couple of days later to the point three metres higher 170 metres or so further west

Parked at minor road junc to SE. Short walk over rough tussocky boggy ground to trig. Pillar found in good condition, could find no damage so unsure why previous loggers have marked it down for condition. Original cap in place, raised lettering; front sight hole open. 360deg panorama - to the W Macleod's Table North & South in full view, SE the black cuillin peaks shrouded in cloud.

Easy access but the corner looks to be marked and dug out for a new dwelling so a possibly more exposed walk in line for the future.(will revise dates later)
