Parked in the golf club car park. Walked over to the course where there were quite a few golfers about. I could see the pillar in the distance. I asked if it would be ok to look at the pillar. They were fine with that. Walked behind the first tee and onto the top of the reservoir. There are lots of ventilation pipes or something sticking out of the ground so it looks a bit like a sci fi film set. Good views to east across golf course. Had a cup of tea from the clubhouse but they had NO CAKE! Over the road is a water tower. Doesn’t appear to be listed as a TP.

I parked in the CH car park and walked in. There was a group of club members having a drink outside. I asked if I could go across and the were more than happy to let me in. On my return they questioned me what it was. I explained and they were surprised. They thought it was to just mark the highest part of Barnet. Nice people :-)

Log #387. In Borehamwood on business, so early morning wander to take in the two local trigs. Golf course empty at this time in the morning, so avoided CCTV as best as possible and snapped some photos of the trig. Easily accessible with lightly indented cap intact. [ExP-263/MiP-34/Rev-6/BM-25/IS-41/Other-18]

Parked in golf club car park. Pillar on covered resr edge of greens. In view of club house but dusk(ish). Original cap in place, lightly indented lettering; rear, L & RHD side sight holes open. Woodland views.

On way to High Barnet visiting family to bag this easy trig. Parked in GC car park and asked at bar, permission was readily given no problem by the barman but had no idea what I was talking about. Just warned me to take care of flying golf balls. Trig on NW corner of the reservoir, the nearest corner to the club house. Some views, apart from the course.

Parked in Golf Course carpark for this one then along edge of course easy pop up onto top of reservoir, got a couple of odd looks from Golfers :) Pillar in good condition Golf course type views.

Revisit for photos. Metal cap, shallow letters - no change. Same tactic as Arnand, late on a frosty afternoon: just 2 golfers around: they either didnt see me or werent bothered.

Golf course busy, so I made a polite enquiry as to whether it would be possible to visit the trig. I hadn't realised the delightful gentleman I had asked was the club captain, and he very kindly escorted me to inspect the pillar. He was very careful when we went up, as it is right under the tee-to-green flight path. If there is nobody putting, the next group are probably driving, so you risk being hit by low-flying golf balls. Trig in excellent condition. Plug intact.

On top of underground reservoir next to tee on Arkley golf course. Easy access from club house car park. Golfers walk across the reservoir to get to next hole.
