Footpath loops around the back of ash coppice and up,on to the top with excellent views over my right shoulder of Titterstone and Brown Clee. The pillar itself is fairly hidden along an avenue between an overgrown hedge and boundary fence. The pillar has some corner damage and apart from the green invasion, it is not in bad condition in its sheltered position. My walk was completed by walking on to Wyke via the Jack Mytton Way and back down the road. Fairly muddy walk but a very nice walk.

This one's great fun; not content with having to navigate the well-documented undergrowth & brambles, I chose to visit in the pitch dark too. Why make it easy for yourself? In reality, at this time of year, it's not too hard - climb the gate into the reservoir compound, head for the diametrically-opposite corner of the big water tank, scramble up the steep, brambly bank and down the other side, duck under some young larch trees, crawl a few yards between them to the right, and the trig is just there, the other side of a fence. Piece of cake. Wish they were all this much entertainment!

Up a steep grass bank, over a fence and into a wood.Using GPS,eventually found a wooden fence to the right.Over this and into a mass of brambles. Eventually, with use of secateurs and gardening gloves (ESSENTIAL!),I found the pillar, which surprisingly was not covered in brambles. No view to speak of. Don't want any more like this one.
