Erected in 1988 for the 400th anniversary of the Spanish Armada. Four hundred beacon signals were lit across England and Wales on 19th July 1988 to mark the 400th anniversary of the sighting of the Spanish Armada, the first being an oak pole at the Kynance headland near Lizard village on the southwest tip of Cornwall

I bagged the trig point back in 2007, back in the area and walking right past I stopped by the beacon. No issue spotting the beacon and trig point was a lot easier to get to than it was when I was last here.

I have been here many times and logged the trigpoint in April 2003 . Called back today to log the beacon .. trig still nice and clear on fresh cut path or it would be well hidden

This has only been here since 1988. Did OS really use this in their surveying, with an excellent column nearby? Someones having a laugh at our expense.
