Log #366. Quick stop en route back to Glasgow. Hidden from road, but a substantial stone monument with obvious IS on top. Good views back along Loch Alsh and the kyles, particularly towards the bridge. [ExP-253/MiP-32/Rev-3/BM-25/IS-35/Other-18]

Good layby directly opposite footpath to monumnet on rocky ground overlooking Kyle of Lochalsh. Erected 1863 in memory of one Colonel Donald Murchison.

Driven by this one countless times but finally circumstances were right for a stop here. I'm with spidym on this one, really cool wee spot and yeh, even learned something too :) I can now, with a smile, nod knowingly next time I blast by...lol. Just so happens its a great viewpoint towards the bridge as well, less so inland.

Excellent wee spot, didnt realise there was a path as i came from Lochalsh way so started ducking through trees only to find a path at other end...Doh! Really liked this spot and learn something new about the area.
