Set within the site of Elgin Castle with earthworks and several piles of stonework all that remains of that building. From the north stand of the wonderfully characterful Borough Briggs, I could see this prominent column during the whole afternoon (Elgin City 1-1 Clyde), although the duke appears not to have been a football fan as he is looking away from the ground.

A good view over Elgin from this location.

Duke of Gordon's Monument In 1839 an 80 foot high column was erected on Lady Hill in memory of the last Duke of Gordon. His statue on top stands a further 12 foot high.
