Picked a good route up to this one although slightly steep at first. Lovely old monument to a horse right beside the trig which is also a Pokemon gym - result. Started pouring with rain on way back down which made the descent interesting. Cheers.

The Grade II listed memorial monument to an 18th century horse stands on a mound next to an Ordnance Survey trig pillar on the downs to the west of Winchester. It was easily reached by paths from a car park for the nearby Country Park. There was a wide misty view over the surrounding down land.

Easy to find and access. VG views from around the site.Interesting monument to a horse; the cost would probably have built a village for the peasants in those days
